Finding the right aircraft maintenance provider once meant manually searching who was nearby, what they could support and whether they were equipped for the job. But for Alpha Wingman’s customers, that work has been replaced by a real-time operational view.

A flight department’s maintenance team logs in to a live map showing technicians in motion, nearby providers and capabilities indexed by aircraft make and model. Much of what an operator needs to make the next move is visible on demand—turning a formerly manual, time-consuming process into an immediate one.

Throughout 2026, Alpha Wingman has strengthened this operational picture. Its updated interface, myVendors, gives operators a structured way to build and manage their own trusted maintenance network while accessing a global community of more than 1,100 vetted technicians across 39 countries. Each job submitted through the platform enriches the operator’s vendor history. Ratings, compliance documentation and operational notes accumulate, so the knowledge generated by one maintenance event is readily available for the next. An operator who finds the right provider at two in the morning keeps that contact, rating and history.

The myVendors platform shows far more than location. Every Alpha Wingman provider must carry minimum liability insurance and maintain an active drug and alcohol program. If the operator adds a vendor who is not part of the Alpha Wingman network, they are given the ability to upload critical documents within the system for easy access. When a provider responds to an AOG request, operators also see whether they hold the correct manuals and tooling for that aircraft, whether they have factory or on the job training for that make and model and whether they are badged for the airport that needs to be accessed.

“It gives operators a much more transparent view of who’s actually certified, trained and who’s going to be the best bet to get the job done,” says Andy Nixon, president.

For scheduled maintenance, the Capability Map feature applies the same logic. Operators search by aircraft make and model, review a facility’s rated capabilities and customer feedback and make an informed choice before sending a request. Providers of every size appear on equal terms.

AOG events account for roughly 80 percent of platform activity. Parts sourcing and scheduled maintenance needs have grown and Alpha Wingman has expanded to meet them. Parts procurement posed a specific challenge: confirming availability before committing to a supplier was difficult. Alpha Wingman’s model removes that uncertainty by querying suppliers directly, each of whom must confirm the part is physically on the shelf before their response reaches the operator.

From Visibility to Verification

Alpha Workforce, the vendor-facing side of the Alpha Wingman platform, gives maintenance organizations a real time view of technician availability, location and status across their mobile teams. Organizations that once had limited visibility into where technicians were working now have live data and timestamped records. Providers can share a customer facing version of their technician map with fleet operators, or embed the map on their organization’s website as a live location widget. Yingling Aviation and Business Jet Services in Dallas are among the organizations using it. Alpha Wingman is building a custom solution for Dassault Falcon Jet on the same platform.

Expanding technician records are pushing the platform toward something more precise than simple availability matching. Factory training certificates, license records and equipment inventories will surface the most qualified technician for each job.

“John Doe has 1,600 hours of experience on a Citation Latitude,” says Nixon. “That is where the technology comes in, making it easier for maintenance controllers to make the most educated choice.”

A Roadmap Written by Customers

Alpha Wingman is bootstrapped and customer conversations have always written its roadmap. Alpha Wingman recently founded two Customer Advisory Boards to ensure evolution and development are focused on benefiting operators and vendors equally. Every feature reflects something operators or maintenance providers have advocated for. Revenue goes back into the platform and development moves at the pace customer insight allows.

Nixon’s ambition extends beyond any feature. He wants operators and maintenance providers to understand each other better, treat each other fairly and stay honest about the work.

“Keep the planes flying and keep MROs in business by making a decent margin,” says Nixon.
